for the Earth/Adopt-A-Garden Kick-off
The UCCE Master Gardeners invite adults and children to
join them in the Rooftop Gardens to learn how to prep your
garden for spring and start and maintain a compost bin.
The Adopt-A-Garden Program is ready to grow! Individuals,
businesses, groups of friends, and community organizations
are invited to adopt one of the rooftop gardens. There is
no monetary contribution required; adoptees are simply volunteering
to help maintain one of the gardens. Come see what’s
growing and pick up a brochure!

“secret ingredients” to make their creation
extra artsy!
Thursday, April 22, 1:00-4:00pm Earth
Day Celebration!
Join us in celebrate the 40th Anniversary
of Earth Day. This year’s theme is: Educating the Green

composting, preparing your garden for spring & the new
ELC Adopt-A-Garden program, proper disposal of household hazardous
waste, water conservation, and many other topics.
Join us in the Court Yard to make your very own Earth Day
T-Shirt for the cost of $10.00. You buy the shirt, we will
provide the supplies. Patrons are encouraged to bring in
glass, plastic bottles and aluminum cans to help with our
recycling drive!
For every 20 aluminum cans donated,
patrons will receive a re-useable travel mug, refrigerator
magnet clip or mystery prize. All prizes made from recycled
plastic. All proceeds from the recycling drive go
to the ELC to help care for the animals.

you could win a Compost Bin.
